Treasure Island[SBS Entertainment News | Kang Sun-ae] 'Buried Hearts' has captivated viewers as an 'ending delight'.

SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'Buried Hearts' (written by Lee Myung-hee, directed by Jin Chang-kyu) follows Seo Dong-joo (played by Park Hyung-sik), who hacks a political slush fund worth 2 trillion won and risks everything to take down the absolute evil that killed him and dismantle its world. Since its premiere on February 21, it has claimed the top spot in viewership ratings for Friday-Saturday dramas, currently breaking its own record for four consecutive episodes.

There are many reasons why viewers are enamored with 'Treasure Island'. The explosive chemistry between Park Hyung-sik and Heo Jun-ho (playing Yeom Jang-seon), the raw and intense storytelling that vividly portrays human desires, and the impactful direction that enhances immersion are just a few. However, the most crucial element is the deadly cliffhangers that leave viewers unable to resist watching the next episode.

Let’s take a look at why 'Buried Hearts' is considered an 'ending delight' drama.

◆ Episode 1 Park Hyung-sik Betrayed by His Lover Hong Hwa-yeon! 'Screaming Ending'

In the first episode of 'Buried Hearts', Seo Dong-joo was a man full of ambition, confident in his ability to succeed in both work and love. He had the trust of the chairman of Daesan Group, Cha Gang-cheon (played by Woo Hyun), and dreamed of a happy future with his girlfriend, Yeon Eun-nam (played by Hong Hwa-yeon). However, after a sweet night with Yeon Eun-nam, he was shocked to discover at Cha Gang-cheon's granddaughter's wedding that the bride was none other than Yeon Eun-nam. She was marrying Yeom Jang-seon's nephew, Yeom Hee-cheol (played by Kwon Soo-hyun), in a political arrangement.

Seo Dong-joo's heartbreaking scream of betrayal marked the end of the first episode.

◆ Episode 2 Park Hyung-sik Faces Death at the Hands of Villain Heo Jun-ho! 'Assault Ending'

In the second episode of 'Buried Hearts', Yeom Jang-seon attempted to oust Seo Dong-joo from Daesan Group. He aimed to eliminate him because he knew the secret behind the 'National Love Fund', the source of the 2 trillion won slush fund, and because he was in love with his niece, Yeon Eun-nam. However, Seo Dong-joo had no intention of leaving Daesan Group. Ultimately, Yeom Jang-seon decided to eliminate Seo Dong-joo.

After being attacked by an unidentified man, Seo Dong-joo heard the voice of Yeom Jang-seon's subordinate, Cheon Gu-ho (played by Joo Yeon-woo), through the assailant's phone. This intense ending hinted at the impending confrontation between Seo Dong-joo and Yeom Jang-seon.

◆ Episode 3 Park Hyung-sik Hacks 2 Trillion Won, Dies and Comes Back to Life! 'Resurrection Ending'

In the third episode of 'Buried Hearts', Seo Dong-joo, facing death, hacked into Yeom Jang-seon's slush fund account of 2 trillion won. Yeom Jang-seon ordered Heo Il-do to kill Seo Dong-joo, and ultimately, Seo Dong-joo was shot by Heo Il-do and fell into the sea. Upon discovering Seo Dong-joo's hacking, Yeom Jang-seon was furious at the thought of losing the 2 trillion won and shifted all the blame onto Heo Il-do. In a desperate situation, Heo Il-do cried out, "Let Seo Dong-joo come back to life!"

At that moment, Seo Dong-joo opened his eyes in an unknown place. The third episode ended with the shocking resurrection of a character thought to be dead.

◆ Episode 4 Park Hyung-sik, With Amnesia, Reunites with Lover Hong Hwa-yeon! 'Reunion Ending'

In the fourth episode of 'Buried Hearts', Seo Dong-joo was resurrected but had lost his memory. Meanwhile, the news of his survival reached both Yeom Jang-seon and Heo Il-do. As they sought to recapture Seo Dong-joo, he came to Seoul to find clues in the tuxedo he was wearing. In a tuxedo shop, he fatefully encountered Yeon Eun-nam. She called out to him with tearful eyes, but Seo Dong-joo, unable to remember, did not recognize her. The fourth episode ended with a poignant reunion.

Each episode of 'Buried Hearts' delivers shocking endings that leave viewers eager for the next installment. After watching the endings, fans express that they simply cannot wait to see what happens next. As 'Buried Hearts' continues, anticipation builds for what powerful endings episodes 5 and 6 will bring.
