NewJeans Announces New Name NJZ...ADOR Expresses Regret

The members of the group NewJeans have officially announced their new name, NJZ.

On the 7th, members Minji, Hani, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein changed their independent account from 'jeanzforfree' to 'njz_official', signaling the start of their activities as NJZ.

NJZ is set to showcase new music at the 'ComplexCon Hong Kong' event taking place in March.

The five members of NewJeans announced their decision to part ways with ADOR, a label under HYBE, last year and have been seeking a new name to replace NewJeans until recently.

In response, NewJeans' agency ADOR expressed regret over the members' announcement of NJZ.

On the 7th, ADOR released an official statement saying, "We are very saddened that the members made this unilateral decision before a legal judgment regarding the validity of their contracts was reached," and added, "ADOR will do its utmost to protect the brand value of NewJeans."

They further emphasized, "We are always ready to meet with the NewJeans members or their legal representatives to resolve any misunderstandings and discuss future activity plans for NewJeans."
