SOYOU of disbanded K-pop girl group SISTAR revealed that there were times when she thought of herself as "dirty" when looking at her body after gaining weight.
On November 26, SBS STORY released a preview for the upcoming special show "Bodymentary," featuring SOYOU, singers Kim Wan-sun, Hwa Sa, Jun Hyo Seong, and Han Seung Yeon.
This show is a documentary where well-known female celebrities openly share their thoughts on weight and dieting.

55-year-old Kim Wan-sun, known for maintaining a 45kg figure since her debut, confessed, "I've always been really worried about belly fat."
Jun Hyo Seong shared, "I used to constantly think, 'Do I need to lose that much weight to appear on camera? Why do those people look like they're walking on their arms instead of their legs?' when I saw other girls from television in real life. It was a cycle of binge-eating, yo-yo dieting, and shame."
Hwa Sa admitted, "I took medication to get rid of my thigh fat. It felt like I lost all of my unique charm afterward."
SOYOU also shocked everyone with her candid confession: "When I looked at my body after gaining weight, I felt dirty. There were times like that."
Han Seung-yeon stated, "But I do think my job involves 'perfecting' my appearance as much as possible."

Regarding this video, many have agreed to a comment that said, "It's heartbreaking how much pressure Korean beauty standards place on celebrities to maintain an unrealistic image. Hearing them talk about their struggles with weight and appearance really highlights how these standards can affect self-esteem and mental health."
