NewJeans members HAERIN and HYEIN are heading back to their label, ADOR.
In a statement on the 12th, ADOR said the two idols “expressed their intention to continue activities together,” adding that after careful discussions with their families and the company, they decided to respect the court’s ruling and honor their exclusive contracts.
“ADOR will do everything possible to ensure HAERIN and HYEIN can continue their careers smoothly,” the label added, asking fans for warm support and to refrain from speculation about the members.
On Oct. 30, the Seoul Central District Court sided with ADOR in a suit seeking confirmation of the validity of the five members’ exclusive contracts with the company. The court found no breach of duty by the management agency and ruled that attempts to exit the contracts on the grounds of a breakdown in trust were not permissible.
While the members’ legal representatives at Sejong Law Firm said they respected the decision but intended to appeal, arguing the relationship with ADOR had completely broken down, HAERIN and HYEIN have chosen to return after deliberation following the ruling.
ADOR also noted it has wrapped preparations for artist activities, including a full-length album, and will work to bring the group back to fans as soon as possible.
