On February 28, DAESUNG invited LISA of girl group BLACKPINK to his YouTube channel "Zip Daesung" for a chat.
At one point during their conversation, LISA took a break to get her hair and makeup touched up.
Noticing DAESUNG just sitting there, she asked, "Oppa, aren't you getting any touch-ups?"

When LISA asked, "Oh, did they leave because their shift was over?" he explained, "They clocked out for now. They're doing things nearby at the moment, and will come back later to continue work. It's flexible."
He then added, "But I only pay them for the time they're actually here. If they're somewhere else, I don't pay them for that time."
LISA responded, "That's not bad. I don't need any touch-ups either, so you can leave," jokingly telling her staff, playing along with DAESUNG's approach.
DAESUNG went on to say, "As a CEO, I realize money gets spent in ways I never expected."

Some people criticized DAESUNG, saying things like, "He's basically keeping the staff on standby without paying them. Is he serious?" "This is a well-known labor rights violation called 'cutting hours' in the entertainment industry. I can't believe DAESUNG is saying all that as if it's nothing," and "Either his entire YouTube team is casually breaking labor laws, or he's constantly exploiting them—there's no in-between," "That's a wage theft," and more.
On the other hand, some defended DAESUNG, arguing, "It was obviously a joke, guys," "People are making a big deal out of nothing," "You can't judge without knowing their contracts," and so on.
