[SBS Star] Song Joong Ki Shares that He & His Wife Rarely Fight; Tells Why

Actor Song Joong Ki shared insights about his married life with his wife, Katy Louise Saunders, a former British actress. 

On December 24 episode of MBC FM4U's radio show "It Is a Perfect Day," hosted by singer Lee Sang Soon, Song Joong Ki appeared as a guest. 

During their conversation, Song Joong Ki talked about his daily life. When asked about his routine, he said, "These days, my full attention is on my kids. My daily routine revolves around their schedules. Even when I'm not focusing directly on them, I find myself drawn to language-related things. Since my wife isn't Korean, we communicate in English. I'm not perfect at it, but I really want to have deeper conversations with her. It's frustrating when I can't fully express my feelings in English. I get the sense my kids will soon outpace me in language skills, so I'm working hard to keep up."

He added, "I've been reading a lot of books and taking lessons from a teacher. In everyday life, my wife points out when I use the wrong words or speak incorrectly. We teach each other English and Korean. We haven't had any major arguments, probably because of the language barrier. When I need to express something, I have to think first, so I make fewer verbal mistakes. It also keeps me calm."
When congratulated on the birth of his daughter, Song Joong Ki said, "Thank you. It's definitely the biggest event that has recently happened in my life." 

He continued, "My wife gave birth in Rome, Italy, so we're currently apart. I'm in Korea alone due to filming and promotions. Even though we talk on the phone several times a day, I miss her so much. When I was leaving to return to Korea after meeting my second child, I could hardly bring myself to leave."

Song Joong Ki confessed, "Honestly, I still feel like I'm in a dream. Having two children doesn't make me twice as happy—it's more like 200 times, even 2,000 times happier. It feels like my life is completely full."
Song Joong Ki met former British actress Katy Louise Saunders in 2021 and went public with their relationship the following year. 

They registered their marriage in 2023, welcomed their first son in June of the same year, and had their first daughter last month.
