Actress Jun Ji Hyun and actor Ju Ji Hoon have confirmed to join an upcoming mystery drama.
On September 4, it was announced that Jun Ji Hyun and Ju Ji Hoon are going to lead a new drama 'Jirisan' (working title) together.
'Jirisan' is a mystery drama about park rangers working to rescue people at Mount Jiri.
Jun Ji Hyun will play the role of a character named 'Seo Yi-kang', who is the best ranger at Mount Jiri.
Ju Ji Hoon's character 'Kang Hyun-jo' is a military academy graduate who becomes Seo Yi-kang's partner.
In this project, the two stars will be joining forces with writer Kim Eun-hee.
Kim Eun-hee has written hit dramas, including 'Sign' (2011), 'Phantom' (2012), 'Signal' (2016), 'Kingdom' (2019) and more.
Previously, 'Jirisan' was reportedly estimated to cost around 2 billion won (approximately 1.6 million dollars) per episode.
As it is a 16-episode drama, it is presumed that the whole production of 'Jirisan' will cost a total of 32 billion won (approximately 26 million dollars).
'Jirisan' is scheduled to kick off shooting this month, and is expected to be revealed in 2021.
