[SBS Star] "I Wanted to Be an Astronaut, but..." Ha Jiwon Tells How Unexpectedly She Became an Actress

Actress Ha Jiwon revealed how she unexpectedly became an actress. 

On November 29 episode of tvN's television show 'You Quiz on the Block', Ha Jiwon made a guest appearance. 

While talking together, one of the hosts Yu Jae Seok said to Ha Jiwon, "I heard that you dreamed of becoming an astronaut even until you were in high school. What made you suddenly dream of becoming an actress?" 

Ha Jiwon answered, "I had many dreams when I was young. Being an actress was certainly one of the things that I wanted to try, but everything did happen very unexpectedly." 

"My high school homeroom teacher needed a student model for a photographer that they knew. And I was apparently recommended the most. After I went to take photos at the photo studio, I received a call from an entertainment company. They said they wanted to see me in person. It turned out they had called me after seeing one of my photos up on the wall of the photo studio."  

"When I went to see them, they suggested that I make my acting debut. But there, I heard something that really hurt my pride. I was actually a natural science student, so obviously, I had never tried acting before. What the agency staff told me was, 'If you want to become an actress, come back after you get into university as a theater and film major.' After hearing that, I just had to do it. So, I did. I got into college as a theater and film major." 
To this, Yu Jae Seok commented, "Wow, that's amazing. Well, it does seem like acting was for you from the start anyway, because you were very popular at school, weren't you? Your high school friends told us all about it! They said a lot of boys fancied you." 

Ha Jiwon laughingly responded, "To be honest, I don't know. I wasn't aware of that stuff," which made Cho Sae-ho go, "That's exactly what every popular kid I know says!" 
 
Ha Jiwon said, "Well, I do thank some boys for doing certain things for me though," then detailed what they were. 

"I used to take the bus to my school, and the school I attended was a girls' high school, which was situated at the end of the bus route. As I often fell asleep on the bus, boys from other schools would always wake me up when the bus was nearly at my school." 

"Another thing that they did was to 'steal' books from their school libraries for me to read. They were books that I wasn't able to find at our school library. I still thank them for that," the actress laughed as she wrapped up her story.
