A 3.5-ton truck rear-ended a 25-seat elementary school bus around 8:20 AM today (November 6) at the 10-kilometer mark heading toward Songdo on the Incheon Grand Bridge in Unnam-dong, Yeongjong-gu, Incheon.

The accident left seven people injured, including five elementary school students and two bus drivers, who were transported to hospital by 119 emergency rescue services for medical treatment.

At the time, 13 elementary school students from the third to sixth grades were on board the bus, while the other eight students were confirmed not to have been transported to the hospital.

Police believe the crash occurred when the truck driver, a man in his 70s identified as A, struck the bus which was traveling at a low speed, and are investigating the specific circumstances.

During police questioning, driver A stated, "I failed to properly see the bus traveling at a low speed."

A fire department official stated, "The five injured elementary school students were transported to the hospital with complaints of pain in their legs or lower backs, and no one was severely injured in this accident."
