A man in his 60s has been arrested by police for threatening medical staff with a weapon at a hospital after complaining that his headache did not get better, and for acting disruptively toward responding police officers.

The Gapyeong Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced today (November 6) that it is currently investigating a man in his 60s, identified as A, on charges including special intimidation and special obstruction of official duties.

A is accused of cursing at a doctor and a nurse and threatening them by brandishing a weapon at a clinic in Seorak-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, at around 11:00 a.m. yesterday (November 5).

A is also accused of threatening responding police officers who arrived following a report from a hospital employee, saying, "I have a knife, so come at me," and damaging a patrol car by throwing a helmet at it.

According to reports, A demanded that pain relievers be administered, claiming that his symptoms had worsened despite receiving treatment at the clinic.

It was also found that A drove a motorcycle to the hospital while intoxicated and without a driver's license.

His blood alcohol concentration at the time was at a level warranting the revocation of his driver's license.

Police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for A later today.
