As LIV Golf enters bankruptcy procedures due to financial difficulties, attention is turning to the next steps for its affiliated players.
Britain's Telegraph reported on November 6 (KST) that the DP World Tour has offered Bryson DeChambeau (USA), who played in LIV Golf, a full seed on the European tour.
The publication added that the DP World Tour will grant DeChambeau "Category 1" status—traditionally reserved for major championship or Race to Dubai winners over the past seven years—if he wishes.
DeChambeau won the major U.S. Open in 2022.
With LIV Golf entering bankruptcy proceedings, key players such as Jon Rahm, Sergio Garcia (both of Spain), and Tyrrell Hatton (England) have already declared their returns to the DP World Tour.
However, DeChambeau has not yet made an official statement.
Until recently, DeChambeau expressed confidence, stating, "(LIV Golf's) business model is very sound and I hope this league exists forever."
To let go of his hopes for LIV Golf and return to the DP World Tour, DeChambeau must submit his membership application by the 14th.
The PGA Tour allowed Brooks Koepka (USA), who was playing in LIV Golf, to return early this year.
However, PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp emphasized that "this measure was a one-time offer," without disclosing any plans for return measures for other players.
