At around 7:00 PM today (November 5), a 25-ton cargo truck crashed into a sound barrier beside the road on the Capital Region Ring Expressway in Anyang, Gyeonggi Province.

In the accident, the truck driver in his 60s sustained minor injuries, including pelvic pain, and was transported to a hospital.

Additionally, debris from the sound barrier shattered by the collision fell onto the road beneath the elevated section and struck a passing taxi, leaving the driver and a passenger with minor injuries.

The accident reportedly occurred as the truck driver, identified by the surname A, attempted to come to a stop by crashing into the sound barrier due to brake failure.

Driver A was reportedly not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

Fire authorities controlled nearby roads and carried out operations to remove debris scattered across the roadway.

Police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
