A man in his 20s has been sent to the prosecution for approaching multiple minors via social media to produce sexually explicit material and blackmailing them using it.

The Jeju Dongbu Police Station announced that it has detained and sent a man in his 20s, identified as A, to the prosecution on charges including forcible indecency and the production and blackmail of sexually explicit material.

A is accused of approaching multiple minors he met through social media and producing sexually explicit material.

He is also accused of lying that he was a middle school student, visiting a victim's home to forcibly grope them, and blackmailing the victims using the sexually explicit material.

Investigations revealed that A approached the victims by handing them mobile gift certificates and offering money in exchange for securing sexually explicit photos and videos.

When police checked A's mobile phone, they discovered around 100 pieces of sexually explicit material filmed targeting the victims. It was found that there are eight underage victims nationwide, including elementary school students.
