BTS has become the first K-pop artist to receive a platinum certification from the Federation of the Italian Music Industry (FIMI).

Their album "Arirang," released last March, achieved 50,000 units based on physical album sales and streaming figures.

This comes six months after receiving a gold certification last April.

"Arirang" is also enjoying a long-running success in the United States.

It ranked 57th on the latest Billboard 200, the main Billboard album chart, staying on the chart for 32 consecutive weeks.
