A man in his 20s has been arrested by police after stealing items while under the influence of drugs at a convenience store in Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul. It turned out that the man was a drug courier using the so-called "drop-off" method. Before stopping by the convenience store, the man was found to have delivered drugs to multiple buildings within an apartment complex.

A convenience store in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, on October 18.

A man, wandering around the store with his head nodding, takes something out of his pocket, mixes it into a drink, and starts trembling.

A moment later, the man heads back toward the display shelf.

This time, while attempting to steal a mobile phone charger, he was caught red-handed by the police following a report from a convenience store employee.

[Convenience Store Owner: He kept wandering around the store, pacing back and forth, and his eyes looked out of it. He didn't seem quite right.]

However, while searching the belongings of the man in his 20s, identified as A, the police discovered a large amount of methamphetamine.

He also tested positive for marijuana and methamphetamine in a preliminary drug test.

According to police investigations, Mr. A was revealed to be a so-called "drop-off" courier responsible for deliveries in the drug distribution process.

Investigations showed that after delivering the drugs, Mr. A stopped by the convenience store and mixed methamphetamine into his drink.

Furthermore, the location where Mr. A delivered and hid the drugs was a nearby large-scale apartment complex in Mok-dong.

This is a massive apartment complex where hundreds of households reside.

Mr. A hid the drugs in various spots around the apartment complex where residents come and go on a daily basis.

[Apartment Resident: It's shocking. You think, 'How could something like that happen right here?' I have a grandson and a granddaughter, so if something like that happens, it's a huge deal.]

Police believe that the buyers have already retrieved the drugs, given that all the drugs Mr. A hid throughout the complex have disappeared.

The police have sent Mr. A to prosecutors under detention while tracking down the identities of the individuals who took the drugs that Mr. A delivered to the apartment.
