Today (Nov. 4), the skies nationwide were mostly cloudy under the edge of a high-pressure system located over the East Sea, bringing mild late-autumn weather.
Meanwhile, rain has been falling in Jeju since this afternoon due to the influence of a low-pressure system situated over the waters south of the West Sea.
As the rain clouds gradually move eastward, rain is expected to spread to the southern regions overnight, and by tomorrow morning, it will expand nationwide.
The rain will gradually stop starting from the western regions in the afternoon as the low-pressure system moves out to the east.
This rainfall will be heavy, particularly centered around the southern regions.
Up to 40mm of rain is expected in South Jeolla, South Gyeongsang, and Jeju, and the southern coast and Jeju may experience accompanying gusts and thunderstorms.
The greater Seoul area will see a relatively small amount of around 5mm.
After the rain stops, cold air will flow down from the north again, bringing colder temperatures.
For now, temperatures will remain above average until tomorrow with no significant cold, but the morning temperature in Seoul will drop to 3°C and daytime temperature to 9°C the day after tomorrow (Nov. 6). On Saturday (Nov. 7), it will drop to -1°C, marking the lowest temperature this autumn.
Looking at tomorrow morning temperatures, most regions will remain above 10°C without severe cold, while daytime highs in Seoul and Gwangju will reach 17°C, similar to today.
Starting Friday when temperatures drop, strong winds will blow nationwide, making the perceived temperature much lower.
Colder-than-average weather is expected to continue until early next week.
