The Incheon Port Authority (IPA) announced on November 4 that it has begun a demonstration project using an artificial intelligence (AI) agent to identify pre-work hazard factors.
This demonstration will be utilized for pre-work risk assessments at Incheon Port, where large equipment and workers gather in one place.
Under this system, when a person in charge inputs work details, equipment information, and site photos, the AI derives risk factors based on past accident cases and assessment histories.
Site photos are used to identify sections with a risk of falls or points where the movement paths of equipment and people intersect.
The IPA plans to use the results of this demonstration to strengthen its data-driven safety management system.
An IPA official stated, "Risk assessment is the first step in preventing severe accidents at port sites," adding, "We will create a safe working environment by integrating AI technology into the port."
