At around 7:17 PM yesterday (November 3), an Ioniq passenger car rear-ended a forklift on the second lane of National Route 7 in Gyohang-ri, Jumunjin-eup, Gangneung, Gangwon Province.

Following the initial collision, the 64-year-old forklift driver, identified by the surname A, approached the driver's seat area of the Ioniq to discuss the situation. While they were talking, a Tivoli passenger car driven by a 33-year-old identified by the surname B crashed into the Ioniq, pinning and striking A.

A, who suffered severe head injuries from the impact, was transported to a hospital but was pronounced dead. B sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital.

Police confirmed that neither of the passenger car drivers was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

Police are currently investigating the exact circumstances of the incident.
