The match ball for the opening goal scored by Moon Seon-min, which secured professional football club FC Seoul's K League 1 title, has set a new record for the highest winning bid in K League charity auction history.
The Korea Professional Football League announced on November 3 that Moon's scoring ball was successfully auctioned off for a record-breaking 5.05 million won through the K League One of One charity auction campaign conducted in partnership with Break & Company.
The ball put up for this auction is the one with which Moon scored the opening goal during the Hana Bank K League 1 2026 Round 33 match between FC Seoul and Gangwon FC held on October 24.
On this day, FC Seoul drew 1–1 with Gangwon, but the result sealed their first K League 1 championship in 10 years since 2016.
Drawing intense interest from fans due to its symbolic value as the scoring ball from the match that confirmed the long-awaited title, the item recorded the highest winning bid in the history of K League charity auctions.
K League One of One is a campaign launched in 2025 that holds auctions for official K League collectibles and donates a portion of the proceeds.
The previous highest winning bids were 2.5 million won each, shared by the football boots worn by Daegu FC's Cesinha when he won the April Goal of the Month in 2025 and the official match record sheet from the K League 1 Round 28 match between FC Seoul and FC Anyang held on August 31 of the same year.
This year's charity auction featured items such as the jerseys of Jeonbuk Hyundai and Daejeon Hana Citizen players who participated in the K League Super Cup 2026, scoring balls from Jeonbuk's Motta and Thiago, K League Player of the Month replica trophies, and original K League match record sheets.
In addition, items with high rarity and symbolic value found new owners through the auction, including Team K League jerseys and player-worn football boots from their match against Manchester City (England) during the 2026 Coupang Play Series, club jerseys featuring collaborations with Sanrio and Disney, and match-winning balls from major games.
The proceeds raised from this year's auctions are scheduled to be donated to the K League Assist Foundation at the end of the year to be used for corporate social responsibility programs.
