Thousands of protesters gathered in Tel Aviv, Israel.

Following the October 27 general election, where neither Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's ruling far-right coalition nor the opposing anti-Netanyahu alliance secured a majority, protesters demanded an alliance between the opposition bloc and Arab parties holding 19 seats to prevent Netanyahu from extending his rule.

Yair Golan, leader of the Democrats leading the anti-Netanyahu camp, has officially initiated discussions on forming a new coalition government.

Golan expressed his determination to end the Netanyahu regime as quickly as possible, leveraging the 67 seats secured by the opposition and Arab parties out of the total 120 seats.

He also presented four key conditions for forming the coalition, including recognizing Israel as a Jewish, democratic, and free state, and mandatory military service for all citizens.

Currently, there are opposing voices within the opposition alliance regarding a coalition with Arab parties, and clear differences remain over national identity.

Because of this, there is a high possibility of a so-called "loose alliance," where Arab parties do not join the coalition directly but support it from the outside to achieve the common goal of ousting Netanyahu.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Netanyahu finds himself in an unfavorable position as some members within the far-right bloc hint at leaving the coalition, and claims by his side that Arab parties committed electoral fraud have been dismissed by election authorities and prosecutors.

Local media reported that Netanyahu, who emphasized security crises throughout the election, urged U.S. President Donald Trump to resume the war with Iran immediately after the U.S. midterm elections.

If the opposition coalition succeeds, Netanyahu is likely to lose power after 18 years in office, facing the resumption of corruption trials at home and international investigations into war crime allegations abroad.
