Police have disclosed the personal information of 77-year-old Lee Myung-soo, who set fire to two buildings in Yeoksam-dong, Seoul.

Lee is accused of setting fires successively on the 3rd floor of the Shinmyeong Building at around 11:55 a.m. on October 20 and on the 4th floor of the Hanyang Building at around 12:00 p.m.

The fires injured a total of 26 people, among whom a patent attorney was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest and is currently receiving treatment.

While Lee claims he only intended to scare people at the time, police have added attempted murder charges alongside arson and transferred him into custody to the prosecution service.

Police cited the fact that Lee set fire to the sole exit of the offices as the basis for adding the charges.

Four years ago, Lee also served a prison sentence after sprinkling gasoline and threatening employees at the same patent corporation, demanding that they hand over paper patent registration certificates.

[Lee Myung-soo / Yeoksam Arson Suspect (October 29): They aren't investigating. Where is there such a damn case like this? What kind of country is this? (So were you trying to kill everyone at the patent corporation?) Stop talking about that!]

Previously, police held a personal information disclosure deliberation committee on October 28 and decided to reveal Lee's identity, citing the severity of the damage, the brutal nature of the crime, and sufficient evidence.

A five-day grace period was observed as Lee did not submit a written statement of objection.

Lee's name, age, and mugshot will be disclosed from 9:00 a.m. today until December 2.
