The 2026 Yanggu World 3-Cushion Billiards Cup, featuring the world's top 3-cushion players, is taking place from November 2 to 8 at the Yanggu Comprehensive Sports Town in Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province.
The Korea Billiards Federation announced that a total of 149 players are competing for the championship in this tournament.
Organized by the Union Mondiale de Billard (UMB), this tournament is the sixth stop among the seven World Cups scheduled for this season.
The player drawing the most attention is world No. 1 Cho Myung-woo (Seoul City Hall).
Having conquered tournaments in Bogota, Colombia; Ankara, Turkey; and Liège, Belgium this year, Cho is aiming for his fourth win of the season at the Yanggu event.
If Cho claims the top spot once again, he will achieve the monumental feat of securing four World Cup wins in a single season for the first time in 18 years since Dick Jaspers (Netherlands) in 2008, while also achieving consecutive victories in a World Cup held on home soil.
Powerhouses who have previously won World Cups held in South Korea, including Jaspers, Eddy Merckx (Belgium), and Marco Zanetti (Italy), have also been included in the entry list.
All major matches of this tournament will be broadcast live through the internet broadcasting platform SOOP.
