The film "Heart of the Beast," starring Brad Pitt, has claimed the top spot at the box office.
According to the Korean Film Council's integrated box office tracking network on November 3, "Heart of the Beast" drew 19,383 moviegoers nationwide on November 2, bringing its cumulative audience to 236,101.
"Heart of the Beast" is an extreme survival drama depicting the desperate fight for life between James (Brad Pitt), a former Army Special Forces veteran stranded in the remote Alaskan wilderness following a plane crash, and his retired military dog Odin, as they rely solely on each other amid ever-looming threats of death.
Although the film opened in second place behind the Japanese animated film "Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of the Mermaid Island" during its debut weekend, it edged into the No. 1 position as soon as the weekdays of its second week began. On the same day, "Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of the Mermaid Island" attracted 15,158 viewers to finish second, with its cumulative attendance reaching 2,599,013.
