Namdaemun's "Scarf Uncle" has been taking over our algorithms lately, drawing massive attention with his witty banter.

However, due to an overwhelming influx of visitors, he has decided to temporarily suspend operations.

The "Scarf Uncle" at Namdaemun Market became famous after videos of him serving customers with witty remarks spread widely on social media.

His iconic catchphrases discouraging purchases, such as "Don't spend money," "Why buy something you won't even use," and "Just soak up the good energy and look around," have become immensely popular.

Some videos have even recorded over 4 million and 5 million views.

Naturally, the number of visitors flocking to the shop has increased sharply.

However, as larger crowds than expected gathered all at once, safety concerns began to arise.

In response, the Scarf Uncle announced his temporary closure through social media, saying, "I will take some time to reorganize for safety reasons and recover my health before returning."

Netizens have sent messages of support, commenting, "Safety and health come first" and "It's a wise decision."

We hope to see him return soon in good, bright health.
