The Democratic Party of Korea will hold a general meeting of its lawmakers today (November 3) to report to party lawmakers the findings of its internal investigation into allegations of mass party registration by members of the Shincheonji religious group.
Earlier, immediately following the August 17 national convention, party leader Kim Min-seok directed an investigation into allegations of mass registration by Shincheonji members by establishing a "Party Member Reorganization Task Force (TF)" headed by Supreme Council member Park Sun-won.
The task force reported the findings of its internal probe to party leadership, but specific details were not disclosed, and the leadership subsequently decided to announce the results at the general meeting of lawmakers.
In addition, during the meeting today, lawmakers will also discuss bills to be introduced at the plenary session on November 5 and plans for parliamentary operations in November and December.
