The Korean Sport & Olympic Committee announced that it is dispatching an 86-member South Korean sports delegation to the 19th Korea-China Youth Sports Exchange, which runs through November 7 in Sanya, Hainan Province, China.

Launched in 2008, the Korea-China Youth Sports Exchange is an annual event co-hosted by the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee and the All-China Sports Federation to promote friendship among middle school athletes from both countries.

This dispatch to China serves as a return visit following the previous invitation event held in Iksan, North Jeolla Province, last July.

The South Korean delegation will hold exchange matches with the Sanya city delegation in four events: badminton, basketball, table tennis, and Go.

Notably, Go has been newly added this year to help vitalize cultural exchanges between the two countries.

In addition to sports competitions, the participating delegation is scheduled to take part in local historical and cultural experience events and counseling activities.
