Carlos Alcaraz (2nd in the world, Spain) has extended his winning streak to 26 matches at ATP Tour 500 series tournaments.

On November 1 (local time), Alcaraz defeated Alex de Minaur (10th, Australia) 2-0 (6-1, 6-4) in 1 hour and 27 minutes in the singles final of the ATP Tour Erste Bank Open (Vienna Open) held in Vienna, Austria.

With this victory, Alcaraz recorded his 26th consecutive win in ATP 500 series events.

The 500 series ranks just below the Masters 1000 tournaments, and Alcaraz has not lost a single match in this category since April 2025.

Particularly this year, after claiming the top spot in Doha, Qatar, and Tokyo, Japan, he also triumphed in Vienna, winning all 16 matches he played in 500 series tournaments.

During this tournament, without dropping a single set across five matches, he secured his fourth title of the season and the 28th tour-level singles title of his career.

He also maintained his undefeated head-to-head record against de Minaur, winning all seven of their encounters.

Alcaraz celebrates his victory
Alcaraz has now defeated de Minaur across grass, clay, and both indoor and outdoor hard courts.

"I wanted to play aggressively and show that if the opponent wants to win, they have to play better, more aggressively, more solidly, and smarter than me," Alcaraz said. "In the end, I found my way and played a good match. It has been a truly emotional and incredible week for me."

Having achieved a career Grand Slam by winning the Australian Open earlier this year, Alcaraz was sidelined from the courts due to a wrist injury starting in April before returning in August.

He is now steadily regaining his full physical condition.

Having already secured his qualification for the season-ending ATP Finals, Alcaraz will next compete in the Paris Masters next week.
