Lee Seo-jin and Ha Ji-won enjoyed F1 together.
On the October 30 broadcast of the SBS program "Anything Boys - My Genie Secretary" (hereinafter "My Genie Secretary"), Lee Seo-jin and Ha Ji-won, who once created a massive craze for the drama "Damo," reunited after 23 years.
In the episode, My Genie Secretary headed to Singapore with Ha Ji-won for an overseas business trip. Before embarking on their first overseas trip, the three of them toasted with champagne to celebrate.
Ha Ji-won brought up how she addresses them, saying, "My manager calls us by our names when it is just us, but uses formal titles on set," and asked how she should address My Genie Secretary.
In response, Lee Seo-jin said, "Since we are going abroad, just call me Mr. Kim here." Kim Kwang-gyu then chimed in, "Then are you Mister Lee?", to which Lee Seo-jin playfully joked, "I am not in the same league as you as a hyung, so you have to call me Captain."
Before their departure, Ha Ji-won listed her favorite F1 drivers and asked to meet them. Lee Seo-jin made viewers laugh by replying, "Even if I get run over by a Ferrari, I will find a way to make it happen."
Unlike usual, Lee Seo-jin thoroughly catered to his My Genie Secretary. Finally, the day arrived for Ha Ji-won to watch the F1 race she had so eagerly anticipated in person.
Ha Ji-won asked Lee Seo-jin once again to help her meet her favorite drivers. Just then, the Deputy Chief Executive of the Singapore Tourism Board appeared. When the Deputy Chief Executive welcomed Ha Ji-won while explaining the event, Lee Seo-jin asked if it might be possible to meet the drivers.
Taken aback, the Deputy Chief Executive replied, "I think we will have to look into it." Lee Seo-jin then smoothly appealed that it would be great if they could arrange a spot to meet the drivers.
Thanks to his efforts, they were granted entry into the paddock, the area behind the scenes where teams prepare for the race. Entering the space that even allowed a tour of the pit lane where racing car tires are changed, Ha Ji-won could not hide her excitement.
This prompted Lee Seo-jin to warm hearts by saying, "Will I ever get to see F1 again before I die? It worked out well. As long as Ji-won is happy, that is all that matters."
Reflecting on the moment, Ha Ji-won recalled, "It felt like I became a member of Max's team. It was truly the best."
As the race began, Ha Ji-won's favorite driver was running in second place. However, a sudden downpour caused the leading driver to slip, allowing Ha Ji-won's favorite, Max, to surge into first place.
Just at that moment, their 15-minute paddock tour ended, and the two took their seats by the circuit with a tinge of regret. F1 is an experience meant to be felt not just with the eyes, but heard with the ears as well. Placed in a vibrant, live-action setting, the two could not contain their excitement.
Drawing attention, Ha Ji-won expressed her gratitude toward Lee Seo-jin, saying, "I was so overwhelmed and thrilled. Oppa tried so hard in every way possible to help me meet Max because our Ji-won liked it. I was deeply touched."
Meanwhile, the end of the broadcast previewed the two recreating iconic lines from "Damo," raising anticipation for the next episode.
