A fire broke out on a 17-ton truck traveling near the Sangju Tunnel on the Changwon-bound section of the Jungbu Naeryuk Expressway in Sin-ori, Nakdong-myeon, Sangju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, at around 1:30 a.m. today (31st).

The fire completely destroyed the vehicle and burned all the delivery packages inside, resulting in an estimated 60 million won in property damage, according to the fire department.

There were no casualties.

Fire authorities completed extinguishing the fire about an hour and a half after receiving the report.

Police believe the fire started in the tires due to a mechanical issue and are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire.
