K League 1 professional football club Pohang Steelers have parted ways with Manager Park Tae-ha.
The club announced today (October 30) that they have mutually agreed to terminate their contract with Manager Park Tae-ha.
As a result, Manager Park steps down from his position two years and 10 months after taking the helm at Pohang.
Manager Park was appointed as Pohang's 13th head coach in December 2023.
He drew high expectations as a "one-club man" manager who spent his entire active playing career solely with Pohang from his debut in 1991 until 2001.
Under Park's leadership, Pohang won the Korea Cup in the 2024 season and finished fourth in K League 1 in the 2025 season, securing qualification for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League for two consecutive years.
However, following a slump of just 1 win, 4 draws, and 5 losses in their last 10 matches, alongside failing to reach Final A for the first time in five years, the club chose to part ways to renew the team atmosphere and bounce back.
Pohang will play the remainder of the season under Interim Manager Kim Sung-jae, starting with the match against Jeju on November 1.
The club stated, "We plan to maintain the interim manager system until the end of the year to promote stability within the squad and focus on responsibly finishing the remaining season," adding, "Using the managerial change as an opportunity, we plan to thoroughly re-examine overall club operations and put more effort into management innovation to improve performance and strengthen the foundation for future growth."
