The Chinese government has denied a U.S. media report claiming that a Chinese businesswoman close to Jensen Huang, CEO of the U.S. AI semiconductor giant Nvidia, provided information to China.

During a regular briefing today (October 30), Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun responded to a question regarding a New York Times (NYT) report that a Chinese businesswoman close to the Nvidia CEO provided information to Chinese intelligence agencies, claiming, "The related reports are groundless speculations and purely smears and slanders against China."

Previously, the NYT reported that U.S. intelligence agencies concluded that Alice Huang, a former Chinese female executive at Megaspeed International, a Singapore-based data center company and an Nvidia customer, acted as an intelligence provider for the Chinese side.

According to the report, the woman is suspected of being involved in smuggling advanced Nvidia AI semiconductors into China, and U.S. intelligence monitoring revealed that she had maintained a close relationship with CEO Jensen Huang.
