South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that diplomatic authorities from South Korea, the United States, and Japan shared information and discussed future response measures regarding North Korea's ballistic missile launches.
Baek Yong-jin, director-general for Korean Peninsula policy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; David Wilezol, U.S. deputy assistant secretary of state for Japan and Korea; and Ariyoshi Takashi, deputy director-general of the Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau at Japan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held phone consultations on this day.
The Foreign Ministry stated, "The diplomatic authorities of South Korea, the U.S., and Japan are operating a channel to swiftly share relevant information and situational assessments whenever North Korea launches ballistic missiles."
North Korea launched about 10 ballistic missiles from the Wonsan area into the East Sea yesterday afternoon (October 29).
