Now for our final hot topic.

This is the legal outcome of a chilling incident in which a kickboard was thrown from an apartment building.

The person who threw the kickboard and damaged a parked car turned out to be an eight-year-old elementary school student.

As a result, the child will not face criminal punishment.

According to the Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station and other sources, police closed the case on October 16 regarding Boy A, an elementary student who had been under pre-indictment investigation for property damage.

It was back in June that Boy A committed the act.

He was accused of throwing a kickboard downward from around the 10th floor of an apartment building in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju, damaging a vehicle parked below.

Fortunately, no pedestrians were passing by at the time, so no casualties occurred.

Under current law, children under the age of 14 are not subject to criminal punishment.

Those aged 10 and older and under 14 are classified as juvenile offenders and can receive protective dispositions under the Juvenile Act.

However, children under the age of 10 are excluded even from this category.

A police official stated that while criminal punishment is not possible, the issue of civil liability for the vehicle damage remains, and they understand that Boy A's parents and the owner of the damaged car are currently discussing compensation matters.
