The cold snap will ease temporarily today (October 30) as southerly winds blow into the country.

Seoul's current temperature stands at 7.6°C (46°F), making it chilly this morning.

This afternoon, temperatures will climb to 19°C (66°F), about 9°C higher than yesterday afternoon, bringing mild daytime conditions. However, temperatures are expected to drop again starting this weekend as cold air flows in from the north.

Light rain or raindrops of around 1 mm are expected to fall in parts of the greater Seoul area, South Jeolla Province, South Gyeongsang and North Gyeongsang provinces, and Jeju Island until this morning before stopping.

Some areas in the central-western regions and North Jeolla Province may also see light, sporadic rain from late tonight through early tomorrow morning.

Skies will be cloudy nationwide today before clearing up from the afternoon.

Commuters in western regions should watch out for dense fog.

Chuncheon started the morning at 3.7°C (39°F), and most regions will see temperatures hover around 20°C (68°F) this afternoon, leading to large temperature swings.
