Golfer Ahn Ji-min has recorded his second hole-in-one of the season on the Korea Professional Golfers' (KPGA) Tour.

Competing in the first round of the Lexus Masters at the Ocean Course of Club72 in Incheon on the 29th, Ahn holed his tee shot directly on the 170-yard, par-3 9th hole against a headwind.

This marks his second hole-in-one of the year, following one in the first round of the KPGA Founders Cup last May. He is the only player to record two holes-in-one this season.

"A headwind with a hook breeze was blowing, so I hit it low with a 5-iron," Ahn said. "It looked like it was heading to the right of the pin, but after bouncing twice, it went into the hole."

This specific hole featured a luxury electric vehicle worth 70 million won, put up as a prize by the title sponsor, Lexus Korea.

Ahn's cumulative prize money for this season stands at 63 million won.

Having won a car as a prize, Ahn smiled and said, "I was so happy that I hugged my caddie. I had a ball in my bag, but I was so flustered that I couldn't even gift it to the gallery."

Ahn is currently ranked 69th in the Genesis Point standings. To secure his playing card for the KPGA Tour next year and qualify for the Tour Championship, the season's final tournament taking place next week, he must finish within the top 70 by the end of this tournament.

Having finished the first round at 1-under-par 70, Ahn said, "I really want to play in the Tour Championship, but I tend to get very nervous when I think about it. I will focus only on the present and do my best in the remaining rounds."
