The KOSPI fell more than 1% today (October 29), giving up the 6,000 threshold just a day after reclaiming it.

On this day, the KOSPI closed down 74.78 points, or 1.24%, at 5,937.66 compared to the previous session.

The index opened at 6,017.22, up 4.78 points or 0.08% from the previous session, and showed an increase of over 1% in early trading.

As Samsung Electronics began to plummet following the announcement of its detailed third-quarter earnings, the KOSPI also shifted to a downward trend, dropping at one point by 3.24% to 5,817.92.

The KOSDAQ index closed down 18.05 points, or 2.34%, at 753.23.
