The movie 'Ugly Duckling Ms. Maeng' debuted at No. 3 at the box office on its opening day.

According to the Korean Film Council's integrated ticketing computer network statistics on October 29, 'Ugly Duckling Ms. Maeng' mobilized 14,332 viewers nationwide on its opening day, October 28, ranking third behind 'Chiikawa the Movie: Secret of the Mermaid Island' and 'Heart of Beast'.

Considering that the release date was Culture Day, the figure falls short of expectations. As the film is themed around the College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT), attention is focused on whether it can draw interest from test-takers after the exam concludes on November 19.

'Ugly Duckling Ms. Maeng' is a comedy film depicting the 40-day story of a Korean language teacher who accidentally joins the CSAT question-setting committee and experiences life in isolated camp confinement. It stars Lee Sunbin, You Chea Myung, and Kim Young-min.
