Democratic Party of Korea leader Kim Min-seok said regarding writer Rhyu Si-min's continuous criticism directed at the government, the ruling party, and President Lee Jae-myung, "Personally, I have been thinking, 'Is there really any need to evaluate or respond to it?'"

Appearing on the Democratic Party's YouTube show "Minti 07" today (October 29), Kim said, "During the party national convention, I was angry listening to what writer Rhyu said," adding, "However, he has spoken in that manner often since the days of President Kim Dae-jung, so I just think, 'He has probably decided to keep speaking like that.'"

Appearing on the YouTube channel "Park Si-young TV" the previous day, Rhyu renewed his criticism of President Lee, saying, "The Yoon Suk-yeol beetle completely dismantled its own house, and now the current administration and President Lee are doing the exact same thing."

In response, Kim stressed, "Things are difficult both inside and outside the party right now, and at times like this, the best course of action is to avoid answering divisive language with divisive language as much as possible." He added, "It is necessary to use language that is not divisive or to exercise restraint so as not to escalate such issues."

Kim also rebutted Rhyu's citing of the Democratic Party's reorganized YouTube channel after Kim took office as evidence of dismantling the political camp.

Rhyu had pointed out that "Party Leader Kim, who was supported and installed as party leader by President Lee, reorganized the broadcast and entrusted the person in charge to Representative Kim Nam-jun, a member of the so-called Seongnam faction."

Kim said, "Representative Kim, who previously served as Cheong Wa Dae spokesperson, took on the role of chief of public relations and successfully launched the party's official broadcast." He continued, "While various things can be said about its nature or content, there is little dispute over the assessment that the political party successfully established an official broadcast relatively early on."

He added, "There is no need to view even things like this through a partisan or factional lens."
