Game 3 of the professional baseball playoff series between the Samsung Lions and the KIA Tigers will take place today (October 29) in Gwangju.

Samsung pitcher Choi Won-tae and KIA pitcher Shirakawa are set to clash as starting pitchers.

Having split the first two games evenly in Daegu, Samsung and KIA will head into Game 3 in Gwangju today.

Samsung, which successfully bounced back in Game 2, aims to secure its second consecutive win with starting pitcher Choi Won-tae.

Although Choi spent time in the minor leagues due to injuries and slumps during the regular season this year, expectations are high for a turnaround given his strong performance in last year's postseason.

KIA is preparing Shirakawa, who led the team to victory in Game 3 of the wild-card/semi-playoff, for the starting mound.

Park Jaehyun, who has struggled offensively with just 1 hit in 9 at-bats through Game 2, desperately needs a resurgence, especially considering he wielded a hot bat against Choi Won-tae during the regular season with 5 hits in 8 at-bats.

Choi Hyoung-woo, who started as the fifth-batter left fielder in Game 2 and delivered stellar performances on both offense and defense, is expected to take the field as left fielder again in Game 3 today.

Game 3 of the playoffs between Samsung and KIA, which will determine the direction of the series, will be broadcast live by SBS this evening.
