Seven professors at the Pediatric Emergency Medical Center of Ajou University Hospital, which was recently subjected to a police search and seizure in connection with the death of a young patient, have reportedly expressed their intention to resign. In relation to this, Ham Young-wook, head of the Metropolitan Investigation Unit at the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency, which holds jurisdiction over the case, appeared as a witness at the comprehensive parliamentary audit by the National Assembly's Health and Welfare Committee on Tuesday night (October 27). Although lawmakers from both the ruling and opposition parties demanded that he apologize for the search, Ham repeatedly maintained that he merely found the situation "regrettable."
