▲ Independent lawmaker Han Dong-hun reviews data during a comprehensive audit of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Unification, and other bodies at the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee on the 27th.
Police investigating allegations that independent lawmaker Han Dong-hun covered up a probe into his daughter's suspected "fake resume" while serving as Minister of Justice are scheduled to question an additional complainant today.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's metropolitan investigation unit will summon lawyer Kim Kyung-ho, who filed a complaint against lawmaker Han on charges of abuse of power, starting at 10:30 a.m.
Lawyer Kim filed the complaint against lawmaker Han with the National Office of Investigation under the Korean National Police Agency on October 11.
The complaint argues that an investigation is necessary to determine whether Han intervened in the process back in December 2022—while he was serving as Minister of Justice—whereby prosecutors allegedly withheld and did not forward to the Ministry of Justice a request for international judicial assistance submitted by police investigating his daughter's alleged violation of the Copyright Act.
In a press release issued on October 27 announcing today's questioning schedule, lawyer Kim stated, "I plan to testify on requests for investigation, including securing the approval chain of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office, district chief prosecutor report logs, and communication records."
The previous day, police also questioned representatives of civic groups, including the Center for People's Livelihood Economy, which had filed complaints against lawmaker Han and prosecutors suspected of involvement in the alleged cover-up on charges of abuse of authority and dereliction of duty.
