Kim Min-seok, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, described the Supreme Court's decision to issue an additional arrest warrant for former First Lady Kim Keonhee as "only natural."
At a Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly today (October 28), Kim stated, "In terms of public sentiment, common sense, legal interpretation, and the gravity of the case, extending the detention period is justice prevailing."
He pointed out, "Riding on the coattails of her husband's (former President Yoon Suk Yeol) power, it was the ultimate compilation of state affairs meddling and corruption—participating in stock price manipulation, intervening in the expressway route change, receiving bribes from the Unification Church, meddling in the People Power Party's candidate nominations, and selling government offices."
He added, "To ensure that such power-based corruption is never repeated, our party will spare no effort in thoroughly clearing away the state affairs meddling, corruption, and emergency martial law rebellion of Yoon Suk Yeol and Kim Keonhee, and holding them fully accountable for every single crime."
