Ji Man-won has been arrested on charges of spreading false claims that the North Korean military intervened in the May 18 Democratization Movement.

The Suwon District Court issued an arrest warrant for Ji late last night (October 27), citing concerns that he might destroy evidence or flee.

Ji faces charges of defamation against May 18 victims and their bereaved families after posting online articles more than 60 times containing false information, such as labeling citizens who participated in the May 18 Democratization Movement as North Korean soldiers.
