An early winter cold wave has arrived overnight, prompting cold wave advisories across most parts of the country. Temperatures have reportedly dropped below freezing in some areas. Let's connect with the weather caster stationed at Yeouido for the morning commute.

Caster Park Se-rim, it really feels like winter weather now.

I was reporting on the cold from right here just six days ago.

The air has become much colder than it was then, and it now feels closer to winter than autumn.

Citizens can be seen wearing much thicker clothing.

When heading out for your commute today (October 28), it is best to bundle up warmly in winter outer garments like thick padding.

With temperatures plunging significantly by about 10 degrees Celsius compared to yesterday morning, cold wave advisories have been issued for most inland areas, excluding Seoul.

Currently, some inland areas are recording sub-zero temperatures, with Daegwallyeong at -2.4°C (28°F), Cheongsong at -1.0°C (30°F), and Jecheon at -0.9°C (30°F).

Seoul is currently at 4.3°C (40°F), but with the chilly wind, the wind chill temperature has plummeted to 1.5°C (35°F), making it the coldest morning this autumn.

Looking closely at current temperatures by region, Chuncheon is at -1.2°C (30°F) and Daejeon is at 3.7°C (39°F). Frost or ice may form in some inland regions, so caution is needed to prevent low-temperature damage to crops.

As for daytime highs, Seoul and Cheongju will hover at 13°C (55°F), while Daegu and Gwangju will peak at only 15°C (59°F), remaining chilly even during the day.

Strong winds will blow, particularly around coastal areas and Jeju, until this morning.

Waves will be very rough across most seas.

Skies nationwide will be mostly clear today.

Temperatures will rise briefly on Friday.

After rain falls nationwide between tomorrow and the day after tomorrow, the weather is expected to turn cold again starting this weekend.
