The right-wing ruling Likud party, led by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has raised suspicions of irregularities at polling stations in Arab-populated areas during the general election held on the 27th (local time).
As a result, concerns are growing over potential challenges from the ruling camp and a refusal to accept the election results following the close of voting and the announcement of exit poll results later tonight.
According to the Likud party's Telegram channel, the party's election transparency headquarters announced that as of 3 p.m. that day, a staggering 620 unusual incidents had been reported at polling stations in Arab-populated areas.
The reports reportedly included missing sealed ballot envelopes, prohibited transmission and leakage of information, and acts of violence.
Shai Gaiser, head of the election transparency headquarters, strongly criticized the conduct of the election commission and called for an immediate and thorough investigation.
He raised his voice, stating, "Even though meticulous attention is required more than ever to prevent election fraud, procedures are instead being bypassed and principles are being undermined."
