Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who won the presidential election to secure his fourth term overall, has expressed his gratitude to President Lee Jae-myung for sending congratulatory messages.

President Lee wrote on his social media yesterday (October 26), calling President Lula "my special friend and comrade," and stating, "I congratulate you on your election victory with more joy than anyone else."

In response, President Lula shared this post on his social media today (October 27), writing, "I am deeply grateful for the heartfelt message."

He also referred to President Lee as "my dear friend (Meu querido amigo)."

President Lula emphasized, "We will continue to work together for dialogue between nations, social justice, workers' rights, and environmental protection," adding, "The future we seek to build must be one that ensures dignity and opportunity for all."

He added, "I know well that these goals are the shared direction we pursue," and said, "I look forward to meeting again soon."

President Lee first met President Lula at the Group of Seven (G7) Summit held in Canada shortly after taking office in June last year. The two leaders then met in succession at the Group of 20 (G20) Summit in South Africa in November of the same year, and at South Korea-Brazil bilateral summits held in South Korea and Brazil in February and July of this year, respectively.

Both leaders are known to have broadened their consensus on workers' rights and bilateral exchanges based on their shared background of working as young factory workers in their youth.
