Park Sung-hyun, who has starred on the U.S. Women's Professional Golf (LPGA) Tour, is taking on the challenge of the Korea Women's Professional Golf (KLPGA) Tour qualifying tournament.

On the 27th, Park posted on her Instagram account, saying, "I am preparing for the domestic qualifying tournament. No matter the result, I will do my best and come back."

A KLPGA Tour official stated, "Park Sung-hyun submitted her application to participate in the preliminaries for the 2027 regular tour seeding ranking tournament on the 26th, the deadline."

The preliminary round for the seeding tournament will be held from November 3 to 6 at Muan Country Club in Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do.

If she passes the preliminaries, she will need to finish roughly within the top 30 in the main tournament, which takes place from November 10 to 13, to secure stable participation in the regular tour next year.

Park, who accumulated 10 wins on the KLPGA Tour, advanced to the LPGA Tour in 2017.

On the LPGA Tour, Park also achieved a total of 7 wins, including two major titles: the U.S. Women's Open in 2017 and the Women's PGA Championship in 2018.

However, suffering from shoulder and back injuries since 2019, she struggled to produce results and played on the LPGA Symetra (secondary) tour this year.

An official from Sema Sports Marketing, Park's management agency, said, "As she would have had to play on the LPGA secondary tour again next year, she chose to play on the Korean stage first."
