The basic schedule for the semi-playoffs and playoffs for K League 2 teams competing for promotion to the top tier this year has been announced.

In this year's K League 2, the teams finishing in 1st and 2nd place will head straight to K League 1 for the next season, while the teams finishing 3rd through 6th will compete in the semi-playoffs to continue their promotion battle.

According to an announcement by the Korea Professional Football League on the 27th, the Hana Bank K League 2 2026 semi-playoffs will take place at 7:00 PM on December 2.

The matchups will feature the 3rd-place team against the 6th-place team, and the 4th-place team against the 5th-place team from the regular round, respectively, with each match played as a single leg at the home stadium of the higher-ranked team.

Subsequently, the playoffs, featuring a matchup between the winners of the semi-playoffs, will be held at 4:30 PM on December 5.

However, the K League 2 playoff format and promotion opportunities will vary depending on Gimcheon Sangmu's final standing in K League 1.

Gimcheon Sangmu's partnership agreement with Gimcheon City expires at the end of this year, leading to their relegation regardless of their final K League 1 standing.

Accordingly, if Gimcheon finishes 12th, the bottom place in K League 1, only Gimcheon will be relegated without a separate promotion-relegation playoff, and the K League 2 playoffs will be conducted over two legs (home and away).

In this case, the winner of the K League 2 playoffs will be promoted.

On the other hand, if Gimcheon does not finish in last place, the 12th-place team in K League 1 and the loser of the K League 2 playoffs will play in the promotion-relegation playoffs.

In this scenario, the K League 2 playoffs will be a single match, and while the winning team is promoted, the losing team will also be given an opportunity to earn promotion through the promotion-relegation playoffs.

The schedule for the K League 2 playoffs and promotion-relegation playoffs based on Gimcheon's final ranking will be announced at a later date.

Meanwhile, the dates and times for Round 34 matches, which were left to be decided later in the K League 2 schedule announced at the beginning of the season, have also been set.

Round 34 matches will take place over two days, November 28 and 29.

On November 28, the Yongin-Paju and Gimhae-Seongnam matches will each kick off at 2:00 PM.

On November 29, matches between Jeonnam and Suwon, Gyeongnam and Seoul E-Land, Suwon FC and Chungbuk Cheongju, Chungnam Asan and Busan, Gimpo and Hwaseong, and Cheonan and Daegu will kick off simultaneously at 2:00 PM.

The venue for the Jeonnam-Suwon match has been changed from the original Gwangyang Football Stadium to Suncheon Palma Stadium.

This change was promoted to expand touchpoints with local communities and broaden the base of football by allowing Jeonnam to host home matches in various locations within its regional jurisdiction.
