Having failed to reach the postseason for nine consecutive years, the Lotte Giants have appointed former NC Dinos manager Lee Dong Wook as their new skipper and baseball commentator Lee Taek-keun as their new general manager.

Lotte named former NC manager Lee Dong Wook as the new helm on a three-year contract worth a total of 2 billion won, succeeding former manager Kim Tae-hyung, whose three-year contract has expired.

Manager Lee, who led the NC Dinos to their first-ever championship in 2020, later served as a national team defense coach, contributing to the team reaching the World Baseball Classic quarterfinals this year and achieving the nation's first-ever fifth consecutive Asian Games gold medal.

Manager Lee will hold his inauguration ceremony this weekend and take his first steps toward rebuilding the team starting from the closing camp on November 4.
