▲ KOEN signs MOU for joint development of Incheon Eco Wind offshore wind power
Korea South-East Power (KOEN) announced today (October 26) that it has teamed up with artificial intelligence (AI)-based infrastructure company Leedo Terawon to jointly develop renewable energy projects, including offshore wind power in Incheon.
On October 23, KOEN signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Leedo Terawon for renewable energy joint development at its headquarters in Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province.
The two companies plan to explore ways to jointly develop the Incheon Eco Wind offshore wind project and expand their scope of cooperation across all renewable energy sectors, including onshore and offshore wind power, solar energy, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
Incheon Eco Wind is a project to build a 435 MW offshore wind power plant in the waters approximately 40 km west of Gulupdo Island, Ongjin-gun, Incheon.
Meanwhile, KOEN received the UNLEASH Award for the first time on October 22 at UNLEASH World, Europe's largest human resources development (HRD) exhibition held in Paris, France, in recognition of its achievements in establishing a talent development system.
KOEN received high marks for achieving results by creating a "skills-based talent development system" aimed at simultaneously driving energy transition and artificial intelligence transformation (AX) while fulfilling its obligation to provide a stable power supply.
